Terms of service
Last modified: November 4th, 2026
These terms apply to your use of pilot.ly (the "Site"), run by Pilotly, Inc. ("Pilotly", "we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to them. If you use the Site for your company, you agree to them on its behalf.
What the Site is for
The Site describes our research services, shows how a study could work for your project, and lets you request a demo, ask for case-study deliverables or apply for a job. You don't need an account to use it.
Studies we run for you are governed by a separate written agreement, such as a statement of work, signed by both of us. If that agreement and these terms conflict, the agreement wins.
Pages built for your project
When you describe a project, the Site assembles a page from our catalog to show how a study could run. These pages are illustrations, not offers or quotes: the study design, timing, audience and price are set only when we agree them with you. Figures, charts, quotes and screens on these pages are examples unless they are marked as a client's results.
Don't submit confidential information or anyone's personal information in the "How can we help" box. How we handle what you type is set out in our privacy policy.
Using the Site
Please use the Site lawfully and as intended. Don't:
- try to break, overload or get around the Site's security, rate limits or bot defenses;
- scrape or copy the Site in bulk, or use automated means to submit forms;
- submit false information, or someone else's details without their permission;
- use the Site to send spam, malware or anything unlawful.
We may limit or block access to anyone who does.
Our content
The Site, including its text, design, images, video, case studies and software, belongs to Pilotly or to the people who licensed it to us, and is protected by law. Client names, logos and titles shown in case studies belong to their owners and appear with permission. You may view the Site and share links to it, and use the press kit as its page describes. Anything else needs our written permission.
What you send us
You keep ownership of what you send us. You give us permission to use it to respond to you, to prepare for and run any conversation or study you ask about, and to improve the Site, as our privacy policy describes. If you share ideas or feedback about our services, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Other sites
The Site links to sites and services we don't control, such as press coverage, social networks and Google Meet. We aren't responsible for their content or practices.
Disclaimers
THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T PROMISE THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR THAT EVERY PAGE IT BUILDS WILL FIT YOUR PROJECT.
Limitation of liability
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, PILOTLY WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ABOUT THE SITE IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US$100). THIS DOES NOT LIMIT LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW, OR ANY AGREEMENT WE HAVE SIGNED WITH YOU FOR A STUDY.
Indemnity
If you misuse the Site or break these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs, including legal fees, of any claim that results against Pilotly.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something on the Site infringes your copyright, email inquiry@pilot.ly or write to Pilotly, Inc., 555 12th St, 5th Floor, Oakland, CA 94607, with your contact details, the work, where it appears on the Site, a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized, and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you own the right or may act for its owner. Please sign it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute about the Site or these terms will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in Alameda County, California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
Changes and general terms
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept it. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term isn't a waiver. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
